WELCOME TO MY ONLINE ATELIER
Effective Date: January 1st, 2026
Jennifer Tattanelli products are created by specialized artisans using carefully selected materials and traditional craftsmanship.
With appropriate care, many products can be maintained, restored, or repaired. However, every request must be evaluated individually before any repair can be confirmed.
1. Requesting a Repair
To request an evaluation, contact: customerservice@jennifertattanelli.com
Please provide:
- your name and contact information;
- proof of purchase, where available;
- the product name or description;
- clear photographs of the entire product;
- detailed photographs of the area requiring attention;
- a brief explanation of the issue;
- your current location.
Photographs allow us to make a preliminary assessment, but a final determination can be made only after the product has been physically inspected.
2. Do Not Send the Product Without Instructions
Products must not be sent to a Jennifer Tattanelli atelier, business address, workshop, warehouse, or shipping address without prior written instructions.
After reviewing the initial information, we will advise whether:
- the product should be inspected locally;
- the product should be sent to a designated repair location;
- the product must be returned to our artisans in Florence, Italy;
- the requested service is not available.
The address shown on an original parcel or shipping label is not necessarily an authorized repair address.
3. Evaluation by Our Artisans
No commitment can be made concerning:
- whether a repair is possible;
- the repair method;
- repair cost;
- completion time;
- the final appearance of the product;
until the product has been inspected by the appropriate artisan or repair specialist.
The final decision regarding the proposed repair and any cost related is made only after evaluation.
4. Wear and Tear
Normal wear and tear is not considered a manufacturing defect.
Repairs relating to wear, accidental damage, misuse, improper care, alteration, or damage occurring after delivery are generally paid services.
Where a repair is chargeable, we will communicate the estimated cost before beginning the work.
No paid repair will be performed without the customer’s approval.
5. Repair Costs
Repair costs vary according to:
- the product;
- the materials involved;
- the type and extent of damage;
- the artisan work required;
- replacement components;
- shipping and insurance;
- customs or administrative costs, where applicable.
Jennifer Tattanelli does not seek to profit from repair services. Our objective is to keep repair costs reasonable while preserving the quality and character of the product.
Any estimate is based on the condition identified during inspection. If additional damage or required work is discovered, we will contact the customer before proceeding with materially different work or additional charges.
6. Shipping Costs
Unless the repair concerns a confirmed manufacturing defect or another circumstance for which we are legally responsible, the customer may be responsible for:
- shipping the product to the designated repair location;
- return shipping;
- insurance;
- secure packaging;
- applicable customs or administrative costs.
Shipping instructions and responsibility for costs will be communicated before the product is sent.
Customers should not arrange independent shipment until written instructions have been provided.
7. Handbag Repairs and Care
Depending on the product and type of damage, handbag services may include:
- stitching repairs;
- replacement or repair of hardware;
- handle or strap repairs;
- lining repairs;
- reinforcement of damaged areas;
- other artisan restoration work.
Not every material, color, component, or piece of hardware remains available indefinitely. Where the original component is unavailable, we may propose a suitable alternative.
Exact matching cannot always be guaranteed because leather, suede, textiles, dyes, hardware, and natural materials may change over time.
Handbag Cleaning
Jennifer Tattanelli does not offer handbag cleaning services.
Customers should not use household cleaners, alcohol, solvents, wipes, shoe products, or other chemical treatments on handbags unless specifically recommended for the material.
Improper cleaning may permanently alter the color, texture, finish, or structure of the product.
8. Shoe Repairs and Care
Certain shoe repairs may be performed by a qualified local shoe-repair specialist, while more complex work may require evaluation by our artisans in Italy.
Depending on the issue, shoe services may include:
- heel repairs;
- sole work;
- stitching;
- replacement of certain components;
- reinforcement;
- other structural repairs.
Customers should contact us before authorizing significant work by a third party.
Repairs, alterations, resoling, dyeing, or other work performed without our approval may affect our ability to evaluate the product or provide further service.
9. Clothing and Other Products
Repair possibilities for clothing, belts, accessories, and other products depend on:
- the construction of the product;
- the nature of the damage;
- material and component availability;
- whether the product has been altered;
- the feasibility of restoring the item without compromising its design.
Altered products may be more difficult or impossible to repair.
10. Normal Wear and Tear
Normal wear and tear may include:
- worn soles or heels;
- creasing of leather;
- surface marks;
- fading;
- changes in texture;
- stretching;
- worn edges;
- scratches;
- discoloration caused by use or exposure;
- deterioration resulting from age or repeated use.
These conditions may still be repairable as a paid service, subject to evaluation.
11. Damage Not Covered as a Manufacturing Defect
Damage resulting from the following is not generally covered as a manufacturing defect:
- accidents;
- misuse;
- improper storage;
- unsuitable cleaning products or methods;
- exposure to rain, moisture, excessive heat, sunlight, oils, cosmetics, perfumes, or chemicals;
- contact with rough, abrasive, or unsuitable surfaces;
- overloading;
- pet damage;
- unauthorized alteration or repair;
- ordinary aging of materials;
- failure to follow applicable care instructions.
This section does not limit any mandatory legal right concerning a genuine original defect or lack of conformity.
12. Repair Results
Repairs are intended to improve the function, durability, or appearance of a product, but complete restoration to its original condition cannot always be guaranteed.
A repaired area may show differences in:
- color;
- texture;
- finish;
- stitching;
- material;
- hardware;
- shape;
- appearance.
These differences may result from the age and condition of the product, natural material variation, prior use, or the unavailability of original components.
We will make reasonable efforts to preserve the original design and character of the product.
13. Repair Time
Repair times vary according to:
- the type of product;
- the complexity of the work;
- the availability of materials or replacement components;
- the artisan production schedule;
- shipping and customs procedures.
Any completion date is an estimate unless expressly confirmed otherwise in writing.
We will contact the customer if a significant delay occurs or if the proposed repair can no longer be completed as originally anticipated.
14. Products Previously Repaired or Altered
We may be unable to repair a product that has previously been:
- altered;
- dyed;
- cleaned using unsuitable products;
- repaired by an unauthorized third party;
- structurally modified;
- fitted with non-original components.
Where repair remains possible, additional work or cost may be required.
15. Authenticity and Product Identification
Repair services are available only for genuine Jennifer Tattanelli products.
We may request photographs, proof of purchase, product labels, order information, or other details reasonably necessary to identify the product.
We reserve the right to decline service where authenticity cannot be reasonably established.
16. Care Recommendations
To help preserve your product:
- store it in a cool, dry location away from direct sunlight;
- use the original dust bag where provided;
- avoid excessive moisture, heat, and humidity;
- avoid contact with cosmetics, perfumes, oils, alcohol, and chemicals;
- do not overfill handbags;
- avoid prolonged contact between light and dark materials;
- allow wet products to dry naturally, away from direct heat;
- consult a qualified specialist before cleaning or treating the product.
Because care requirements vary by material, contact us before applying any treatment where you are uncertain.
