Now that you are in Florence....

my time is Florence is almost done.

The new collections (Summer 2025 and next Fall-Winter) are completed and I will fly back soon back to Palm Beach where my family is awaiting for me. I still have few weeks here and I am planning to enjoy it till the last drop.

Fall months are the best around here and do not forget, the "Olio Nuovo" (new Oil of Olives) is coming out soon and I will enjoy its spice taste when is fresh!!

PALM BEACH

October is THE month....where everyone starts to slowly come back to the Island and the weather gets milder by the day.

Hurricane season is almost over and to be honest, aside Helene, we did not have much rain overall.

Temperatures started to decrease and you can enjoy walking outside all day long.

Worth Avenue summer projects are almost completed, we will not have yet our beloved Taboo Restaurant however the waiting is almost over, plans to reopen are set for April 2025.

FIRENZE...

Fall is truly settling in, and I just love crunching through the freshly fallen leaves in parks and piazzas, soaking up this gorgeous season in Florence. I love how the city gives such different vibes each season, with each offering something special.

Art lovers are excited as Palazzo Strozzi unveils its newest exhibition, this time dedicated to American abstract expressionist icon, Helen Frankenthaler. It will be on display from September 27 to January 26, and the exhibition will even feature works by Jackson Pollock, Mark Rothko and Anne Truitt!

Market-fairs fill Florence, such as the unmissable one in Giardino dell’Orticoltura from October 4-6, where 75 exhibitors bring their spectacular plants and flowers to the picturesque setting. It’s the perfect time to embrace the season and stroll among the stands, breathing in all the wonderful scents! Fall fans will want to go one step further to a full-on pumpkin theme park called L’Orto delle Zucche, a short distance from Florence, where you can pick up your own pumpkin and get carving! 

I’m all about the cozy atmospheres created at film festivals, and there are certainly plenty of them to enjoy in Florence! 50 Days of Cinema kicks off from October 2, running until December 14, with a wide array of cultures and genres brought to the big screen. In particular, this month sees the FánHuā Chinese Film Festival from October 2-6, the Middle East Now Festival from October 15-20 and the France Odeon lineup from October 29 to November 1. You can travel the world without ever leaving your seat!

There’s been intriguing news in Florence recently too, as work has begun on draining water from the old tunnel between Torre della Zecca and piazza Poggi, with the intention of returning the pedestrian walkway to locals and tourists. Running for 250 meters, the two parallel tunnels were originally used by soldiers to move between the sides of the river, and it was expanded in the 19th century to include water tubes for the city aqueduct. I’m looking forward to seeing the results!

This time of year is when you’ll start to see divine truffles become more present on menus. If you feel like treating yourself to a truly decadent dish, nothing’s more memorable than a plate of tagliolini pasta with fresh truffles! It doesn’t require any fancy culinary skills either as all you need to do is pick up some high-quality pasta, and then thinly shave the fresh raw white truffles over your cooked pasta, working best when combined in a creamy sauce with eggs, butter and cheese. Buonissimo! There are even spots to go hunting for your own truffles if you want to go the extra measure! Tuscan truffles are among the most sought after, with numerous truffle festivals held each year if you want to dive deeper into this delicious delicacy!
