WELCOME TO MY ONLINE ATELIER
Easter has just gone and now what?
Dear all,
after a brief trip to Naples supporting the Shelter for Abused Women and Children, I am back in Palm Beach and I have only 2 DAYS before the Dance the Night Away Charity Gala and Competition.
5 months of training, dancing and getting fit to this event supporting the Cancer Alliance of Help and Hope and I must say, yes it is exhausting and yet it feels good to work together with them helping so many Families in need.
If you have not done it yet, please make a small donation to support many families who cannot afford cancer treatments and all the many others costs (utilities, loss of salary, home assistance and more).
As of today we have 52 donors and $25,753.90, my goal as dance performer was to reach minimum $25,000...so we did it!!!
Now, are we sure we cannot do more?

PALM BEACH...
We have just has the Palm Beach Boat Shows down the Marina and town could have not been more active, you add all the Spring Breakers and you can imagine the amount of activity (and noise!!) all around these weeks.
While I complete my rehearsal and competition on Saturday, I will spend the rest of the month enjoying the gorgeous weather and getting ready to move back to Florence.
Last big events are unfolding on the Pink Paradise, in a flash of a light we will all be transported in Europe and we will leave these gorgeous beaches finally to their lovely natural inhabitants.
Anyhow, if you come to town, always remember to send me a message...always lovely to hear from you all.
FIRENZE...
Spring has finally sprung and with it comes one of the most gorgeous times of the year in Florence! It’s the perfect time of year for picnics immersed in the flower-filled parks, and enjoying strolls around the city and surroundings, making the most of the (usually) pleasant weather!
To start, a little news from Florence. The historic Mercato Centrale (central market) celebrates 150 years, marking the occasion with 30 events from now until December. Located in the historic San Lorenzo neighborhood, the structure was designed by architect Mengoni, inspired by the Parisian Halles made of iron and glass. Food, wine and typical products come together in the arcade, with the scents and sounds a truly Florentine experience.
On to the month’s most exciting new exhibitions! Palazzo Strozzi’s newest art show always creates a buzz, and that’s certainly the case with Anselm Kiefer’s Fallen Angels, on display until July 21. With various mediums from paintings to large-scale installations, themes such as religion and philosophy are explored alongside connections between the past, present and future.
Runners, get set, go! The Florence Half Marathon sets off on April 7, weaving through the historic center and the centuries-old streets of the Oltrarno. Whether you’re a spectator or taking part, it’s always a nice occasion to soak up the atmosphere as the streets fill with the cheers of encouragement from the excited onlookers.
Another April favorite is the Firenze Flower Show from April 6-7 at the Corsini Gardens. Rare and unusual plants come to the spectacular setting for two days of glorious gardening. Continue the theme with the annual opening of the Iris Garden from April 25! Nestled just under Piazzale Michelangelo, the park is open to the public every day until May 20, allowing visitors to enjoy the floral fanfare.
MIDA, the 88th International Crafts Exhibition, takes place at Fortezza da Basso from April 25 to May 1, bringing together arts and crafts from all over the world in an unmissable cultural display. The many, many food stands are worth the visit alone!
One of my favorite recipes for this time of year (and any time, really!) is a "Torta Salata" (savory cake). The varieties are endless, but best made with seasonal vegetables like asparagus and spinach. Essentially, it’s simply flour, milk, an egg yolk, butter and salt to make a shortcrust pastry dough, with the filling consisting of your veg of choice cooked with four eggs, Parmigiano Reggiano (add provolone and prosciutto if you feel like it!) and, of course, extra virgin olive oil! Cut into slices once cool and pop it into your picnic basket for the perfect treat to be enjoyed in your favorite park!Have a wonderful April!
Yours,
Jennifer
