The festive season is finally here in Florence

JENNIFER TATTANELLI - ...See you soon in Palm Beach - Jennifer Tattanelli

Welcome December!!

The festive season is finally here, bringing with it markets, merriment and some Christmas magic wherever you are.

Led by Santa Claus, his elves, and entertainers, together with the Worth Avenue Association I am happy to welcome the annual parade that concludes with the signature, spectacular Christmas Tree Lighting Event, signifying the unofficial start of Palm Beach’s magical shopping season.

The parade begins at 6pm, with the flip of the switch that lights the magnificent 40-foot tree happening at 6:29pm. Make sure to get there early and queue up the little tykes for a turn on Santa’s magical throne.

Speaking of Palm Beach, everyone has been happy about the Florence Atelier vitual tour so....please enjoy the just released Palm Beach Atelier virtual tour (click here), if you have never be in Palm Beach before now you have a further excuse to come and visit.

Going back to my "Bella Firenze" along with all the Christmas parties, there are a few events that I just can’t wait to enjoy! The Christmas markets are one of my favorite things about this time of year.

Taking place all over the city, I love picking up unique gifts and enjoying the tasty treats at the street food stalls. Many of the markets’ proceeds go towards a good cause, giving you the added bonus of contributing something and making someone else’s Christmas that little bit better. A few of the ones that I’ve jotted into my calendar include the American International League of Florence’s Christmas Bazaar in the Giardino dell’Orticoltura on November 30 and December 1 and the Spazio Natale Emergency 2019 charity Christmas market taking place at Galleria Artedove via de’ Ginori 14 until December 24.

The Mercato di Natale at Palazzo Corsini is another one not to miss. There is a great selection of gifts, clothing, food and more, all while Christmas carols add a bit of festive cheer.

If you like ballet ‘The Nutcracker’ at Teatro della Pergola is the ultimate way to celebrate the season. December 21 sees Tchaikovsky’s masterpiece performed by the stunning Saint Petersburg ballerinas. The magical story and incredible set are sure to leave lasting memories. Something to bring the whole family along to!

Another favorite of mine, the city lights up for the popular F-Light festival from December 8 to January 6. This year, the focus is on the Moon given the 50th anniversary of NASA’s successful Apollo 11 mission in 1969. The most well-known monuments of the city are the backdrop to a stunning display of lights designed by Stefano Fake of the Fake Factory.

The Four Seasons Open Day on December 15 is a marvelous occasion to spend some time in the Giardino della Gherardesca of the Four Seasons Hotel Florence. With a Christmas market, culinary delights, Gospel choirs and a Santa Claus for little ones, the event is bound to impress.

With Christmas markets, The Nutcracker, lights and carols, there is something for everyone for the most festive month of the year in Florence.

Wishing you all a wonderful holiday season.

Yours,

Jennifer
