...See you soon in Palm Beach many new dresses just arrived

Hello everyone,

it was great to see you all in New York. I am writing this newsletter while in Minneapolis, few more days here then Boston and finally back home.

There is no time to relax since I move to Palm Beach right after, I am following all of you!!

I will then fly back to Florence, where we will have a November  all about culture, checking out the exhibitions of the season as the days get shorter. Right now, there are two shows I can’t wait to see.

One is the Magritte multimedia extravaganza at former church San Stefano al Ponte as the motifs from the Belgian Surrealist painter’s masterpieces appear and disappear all around you.

The other is the Pinocchio Enigma show up at beautiful Villa Bardini, which looks at the world-famous puppet’s influence as a muse for other artists. It’s also a wonderful month to visit the Uffizi and Accademia as the lines become slightly shorter, or take a train to see the likes of the Textile Museum in Prato for inspiration!

Exhibitions aside, this month means the holiday season is drawing closer. Which means starting our search for the perfect gifts for friends and family, preferably in November when shopping is still fun and the stores aren’t packed with people. There’s nothing I love more than to linger in artisan studios in Florence’s Oltrarno – perhaps coming across a handcrafted brooch or a fabulous lampshade!

Pop into my Atelier opposite Palazzo Pitti for stylish gift items and relax over a Spritz or cappuccino at the JT Caffè next door!

At the end of November, it’s time for some mulled wine and apple strudel at Santa Croce’s beloved Christmas Market as locals and internationals gather at the cute wooden huts in the piazza. Another super tip for something special to do this month is the Japanese Festival: catch the tram out to Scandicci on the weekend of November 15 for origami, kimonos and tea ceremonies.

Warm up (if it ever gets cold – this autumn’s been unseasonably warm to date!) at one of the independent film festivals. Pick up some popcorn and cozy up during international documentaries at Festival dei Popoli from November 2 to 9 (various venues) and art-centric cinema at Lo Schermo dell’Arte, taking place at Cinema La Compagnia and Palazzo Medici Riccardi from November 12 to 17, with a thought-provoking offshoot at Palazzo Strozzi: the VISIO contemporary art exhibition titled “Moving Images After Post-Internet”.

Last but not least...actually extremely important...this month, top thinkers from around the world are meeting in Florence to come up with concrete action to address the critical issue of mental health among children.

The Leading Minds Conference is being organized by UNICEF and the WHO and sees our city take centre stage on a global question that really matters. Celebrate children on November 20 as the city’s best-loved monuments—the basilica of San Miniato al Monte, Porta San Gallo, Porta San Giorgio, Torre di San Niccolò, Porta Romana and Porta San Frediano—will be bathed in blue light, UNICEF’s trademark colour, for World Children’s Day.
