...See you soon in New York for my seasonal fashion shows

JENNIFER TATTANELLI - ...See you soon in New York - Jennifer Tattanelli

Hello everyone,

...wow, Summer sure passed us by quickly!!

There’s an Autumn chill in the air most mornings now but luckily Florence is still experiencing deliciously warm afternoons. Most of the city is savouring these last sun-kissed moments before winter sets in.

In fact, it often feels like the city comes to life again after the heat-induced standstill of August and there’s loads of events and happenings to get your teeth into as the last of the good weather leaves us before the Winter season.

In October Florence sees temperatures with average highs of 69 degrees Fahrenheit? Not bad for Autumn. This combined with the dwindling levels of tourists before the Christmas rush makes for the perfect conditions to enjoy the city.

First of all…are you getting ready for the Fall shows in New York, Minneapolis and Boston? I am …now in Florence, enjoying this gorgeous weather and packing for you all…check the Instagram accounts with the latest shoes pics. Then ready to wear, leather jackets and new bags….wow that is going to be a lot of extra luggages this time!!

Ok let's go back to the city... soon it will shine a light on the “Last Supper” by Renaissance artist Plautilla Nelli. This masterpiece, the only known Last Supper painted by a woman, will be unveiled at the Basilica Santa Maria Novella on October 17. The multi year restoration was sponsored by the Advancing Women Artists Foundation

Few streets away, you will have the Florence Biennale of Contemporary Art and Design at the Fortezza da Basso where 720 exhibitors from 73 countries will be present at the 12th edition of the event. Many different mediums make up the program with ceramics, digital art, calligraphy, photography, sculpture and jewellery amongst others. The theme this year is “Ars et Ingenium: Similarity and invention - Celebrating Leonardo da Vinci”, in honour of the 500th anniversary of Leonardo da Vinci’s death. So, the celebrations of the Renaissance genius continue! Why not get involved?

If you’re looking for something more unusual, a Hot Air Balloon Festival comes always at the Cascine Park over the space of two weekends throughout the month. For a price you can even take a ride over the beautiful city, admiring the landmarks that make up the skyline.

Speaking of food… a new season means coming back to some old Autumn favourites that we look forward to munching on every year. In Tuscany that means “Funghi” or mushrooms. Rich with potassium, vitamin B and fibres these amazing forest treasures are an amazing addition to a pasta dish or a soup. “Zucca” or pumpkin is another staple of the season and it’s one of the most accessible sources of vitamin A and C. Roast with garlic, olive oil, salt and pepper before scooping out the flesh and adding some stock to make a tasty soup! …please do to stumble around in search of a “Pumpkin Spice Latte”…please!!

We can’t talk about October without mentioning Halloween. If you find yourself in Florence for the holiday there’s lots of things you can get involved in to get you feeling spooky. There’s a wide selection of restaurants that offer special Halloween dinners. You'll find Halloween costume parties in many of Florence's nightclubs, and there are even a few street festivals in neighborhoods across the city. Keep an eye out for flyers, posters and online event listings.

I think that’s enough to be going on with now… I’m personally looking forward to making some cosy, Autumn-inspired dishes with new seasonal products, what about you?

I am looking forward to see you October 26th in New York, if you like to book your time with me or one of my super stylists team simply click on the images below or send an email to: Fall Winter Seasonal Show

See you soon!

Yours,

Jennifer
