Back to the Hamptons...with a new leather collection

Back to the Hamptons...with a new leather collection

Dear all,

Happy (belated) 4th of July....well I must admit I am late with my monthly newsletter!!

While it’s hard not to focus on the high temperatures in Florence (ice cubes in front of the fan, anyone?), it’s also great to make the most of the average 13 hours of daylight and enjoy the early mornings and late evenings. You’ll find plenty of people with yoga mats in parks or sipping spritzes in the evening, enjoying being out and about over the sizzling summer.

This is the ideal period for exploring the city’s towers, gates and fortresses as they have recently reopened for the summer, with spectacular sites like Torre di San Niccolò, Porta Romana and Fortezza da Basso open for guided visits to discover the secrets of the spots.

The defensive structures in our UNESCO historic center served important functions that you can discover in the fascinating journeys through time. I was interested to learn, for example, that Fortezza da Basso (or the Fortress of San Giovanni Battista, which is now an exhibition centre for hosting large-scale events), was constructed for military purposes between 1534 and 1537 at the behest of Alessandro de’ Medici, and was intended to provoke fear with its imposing appearance so as to discourage revolt! You’ll find all the info at www.musefirenze.it. Make sure to bring lots of water!

If, on the other hand, you’re not going to get to Florence for the foreseeable, you might enjoy this free online exhibit offered by the Uffizi Galleries that details the 18th-19th century frescoes that adorn the Palazzina della Meridiana in Pitti Palace. (https://www.uffizi.it/en/online-exhibitions/pitti-palace-meridiana#7). I’ve always found it fascinating to gaze up at the splendor, and being able to enjoy them from the comfort of your home is a fantastic way to spend even longer looking at them!

It’s the time of year for fruit, fruit and more fruit in efforts to beat the heat. Thankfully, there’s plenty to choose from with apricots, cherries, melon, peaches, watermelon and plums that are packed with flavor. There are clever ways to incorporate them into dishes too, with the ever-popular prosciutto and melone a quick and easy go-to.

It’s not a time for hours spent over an oven, so pull out all the fresh veg you’ve got to whip up refreshing salads like a caprese: tomatoes and buffalo mozzarella, for a satisfying and not overly heavy meal. Just add a little salt, basil, and olive oil (Tuscan, of course!) and dig in! You’ll even see people using strawberries and plums in their salads, or caprese skewers with peaches for a fun variation!

Now it is not hot only in Florence, from Europe to the United States, the elevated temperatures have settled in and they’re not going anywhere. I’ve tried fooling the summer for a moment or two, but it seems that it finally caught up with me.

So, let’s try to make the best out of it! If you got caught by surprise, I’ll arrange a special tip at the end of this newsletter that will help you navigate the summer season in style. Don’t scroll down just yet!

Also, if you’re a fan of fashion insights, stick around, and let’s explore what a fashionista’s summer should look like!

The Hot Temperatures and Looks are in the Hamptons

Not too long ago I’ve been telling you all about my Hamptons Atelier that is about to open up. Well, the waiting is over, as it is now wide open to all of you!

I can’t wait to to greet everyone with the happiest smile and arrange our styling session in the Hamptons style. Everybody knows that this little heaven corner just outside New York is the hottest place of the summer and I’m not talking about temperatures.

Of course, there’s a series of other unforgettable events this month that make a great way to network, rethink our cultural limits, and enjoy summer to its fullest.

Join me here in Westhampton Beach and let’s connect! My summer spot has just turned in a vibrant location, while I was away in the winter 4 more restaurants just opened up...come one bring your party over here!

New Additions Make for Even Better Outfits

Halfway into the season, I’m yet to reveal everything I planned for this summer. Many new pieces are added to the website and the Ateliers.

However, if you’re following me on my social media accounts, you can tell that I’m still holding on to some of my secrets. Not to worry, everything will come out when the time is right!

For now, I’ve added so many more beautiful summer shoes on my website, as well as leather jackets and breath-through dresses. In other words, the essentials. I know that days can be pretty hectic, so one moment it gets really hot, the other is raining, and everything happens during your busiest hours or most important events.

If you relate to this struggle, I do too, but my most recent pieces help me take each day one by one successfully. You see giving up on style isn’t going to happen anytime soon. However, I realize the importance of comfort and utility, so my summer outfits come with blazers now.

Easy to put on, these blazers keep the chilly weather away and make your outfit stand out that much more. If you’re going for a nude combo and want to add just a splash of color, this is the way to do it. Just take a look!

Finally…

Caught up with the news yet? Hmm, we’ll see! Keep following me on my Instagram page as well as my other social media accounts and see what I’m up to. I sometimes post sneak peeks and other cool insights from the industry, so you don’t want to miss out on that!

Now, on to the monthly tip.

So, here it is..

How to Make the Best out of Your Outfit for the Summer

No one likes to be caught by surprise, but if you find yourself in July already with not too many outfit options available and you’re not ready to shop yet, your best shot is to make the most out of this one.

You’re probably going to see everything you have first so that you know how to begin. Therefore, try displaying all your clothes and shoes in a way that allows you to see it all. Now, immediately throw away whatever you don’t use or that you know you’ll never wear.

However, keep in mind to stick to the essentials!

  • The black and white blouses

  • The simple heels

  • The simple leather belt

  • The leather jacket

  • The denim jeans

  • A few summer dresses

Now, try pre-arranging your outfits in advance and see how they look on you. You’ll find that there might be only a few pieces missing or that you already have everything on hand. The key is to make up looks based on future events and have them ready to go.
