Jennifer Tattanelli - Fall is here....

by Jennifer Tattanelli |

Dear all,

The chillier evenings of November are here and with them comes the chance to wrap up warm with a cozy scarf and head off through the picturesque streets with their crunchy leaves and scent of fresh rain. Florence, as we know, is beautiful at all times of year and now it’s been recognized by Lonely Planet as one of the best places to visit in the world! The Renaissance city is the only place in Italy included in the Lonely Planet’s Best in Travel 2022, declared one of the top 10 cities to visit in the world given that it's "up-to-date, vibrant and sustainable". We couldn’t be prouder of our glorious "Città".

I am now back to Palm Beach, after a brief stop in the new Woodbury Atelier, I will spend the Winter in the sunny Florida while we will get ready for the new Spring in Florence that appears already to be fully booked...I see the bookings already spiking up even for September 2022!!!

I now you all love reading about Florence, anyhow I have started to receive requests to include a bit also about Palm Beach. Many of you last season decided to come and visit me here while waiting to resume the international travels and it seems you have enjoyed your time in Palm Beach very much. What to say about it? The weather in the Winter is simply gorgeous, the town is spotless and the beaches too. For lodging there are many options, all the Hotels are up to their reputation. I do often suggest The Colony not only for their impeccable service and retro feeling but also for their location just off Worth Avenue close to the Beach and the Restaurants.

The last days have been quite hectic, the new Atelier on 226 Worth Avenue is almost ready as you can see from the picture below. It will start as only shoes Atelier for both women and men plus some accessories just to spice up the visual. I hope you will like it as much as I do.

I will write more on the December newsletter on Palm Beach, needless to say if you are planning to visit just email me and I will be more than glad to help like I always do with your Florentine trips!!

Now going back to Florence...this time of year is perfect for film festivals as the darker evenings leave us less likely to be out and about for long. Thankfully, there are plenty to choose from this month, including Lo Schermo dell’Arte from November 10-14 that combines cinema and contemporary art, the Florence Short Film Festival takes place from November 3-4, while Festival dei Popoli on November 20-28 is dedicated to international documentaries. Some can even be watched from the comfort of your own home if the windier, wetter nights put you off!

On November 2nd centuries-old traditions took place all over the country as All Saints’ Day is celebrated with vigils and customs such as leaving presents for children said to have been gifted by deceased relatives and laying an extra place at the table for those who are no longer here. Thanksgiving is quickly approaching! Several spots across the city cater to their American residents and visitors by offering traditional dishes, so don’t worry if you thought you’d be missing out on turkey this year!

And how about we finish off with something delicious and seasonal to enjoy this month? Castagnaccio is a tasty Tuscan cake made using chestnut flour and added with pine nuts, raisins, rosemary and walnuts, well matched with a sweet wine while admiring a typically Tuscan view. Of course, I couldn’t leave out truffles! The white or Marzuolo variant is truly delightful when gently sliced and added to an almost cooked egg drizzled with olive oil and salt, and scrumptious when combined with fresh tagliolini and parmigiano for an unforgettable dish.

Enjoy your November!

With Love....yours,

Jennifer
